We’re really excited to announce that themidgame has been chosen as one of ten startups in the national selection from iNNpulsa Colombia, to participate in a pitch competition and startup boot camp in Boston, MA, next week.
Successful pitches will be entered into the next round of judging, for a chance to participate in the famous MassChallenge accelerator program for 2014!
The MassChallenge is the ‘world’s largest startup accelerator and competition’ open to any early-stage startup, in any industry around the world, with a high growth potential.
The non-profit organization was launched in 2009 by John Harthorne and Akhil Nigam and has since helped hundreds of startups gain valuable early support in their journey. Since it’s first program in 2010, which received 446 startup applications, the number of annual applications has grown substantially to over 1,200 for the 2013 program. Around 100-125 startups are chosen every year to participate in the four-month accelerator program from July to October.
The MassChallenge boot camp is the predecessor to the annual four-month accelerator program. Startups in the program will work closely with and gain invaluable advice from over 300 expert mentors in the field of entrepreneurship, law and marketing. They will also have access to marketing and media resources, a free working space in Boston and the opportunity to compete for funding of up to $1 million dollars.
The MassChallenge has gained a great reputation for producing high-quality, fast-growing, successful global companies and their ‘non equity and no restrictions’ funding method is an extremely attractive prospect for small companies across the world who are just starting out.
themidgame has been chosen to participate in the first round of the MassChallenge; a pitch competition and startup boot camp, where we will be competing with other startups from around the world for a place in the MassChallenge startup accelerator program for 2014.
The top six startups with the best presentation in the pitch competition will automatically enter the next round of the MassChallenge, along with 300 other global startups, where they will compete for one of the final 100-125 places in the four-month MassChallenge accelerator program.
Since our team is very small right now (there’s just two of us!), we really appreciate being given opportunities like this to help our company expand and grow.
We can’t wait to go to Boston next week, to meet all the other entrepreneurs, learn as much as possible and soak up the whole experience.
Hopefully, we will even be chosen to participate in the MassChallenge 2014!
We want to thank iNNpulsa Colombia and MassChallenge for their support and we look forward to the challenge!
